CORTISOL,
good for stress but not for tummys.
Cortisol is part
of the adrenal’s response to stress. It, in part, directs
blood away from the gut and out to the muscles. We may have
needed that long ago but not today. Cortisol levels in the blood
slowly rise as we age because of toxity and hormone imbalance.
Excessive levels of cortisol are responsible for symptoms of
insulin resistance, central visceral obesity (spare tire), increased
blood pressure, suppressed immune function, impaired wound healing,
depression and Alzheimers.
To return to some
normal cortisol balance we need to: change and strengen out
stress response, improve cortisol receptor sensitivity and feed
the adrenal exhaustion and balance the hormones.
